Dallas County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a free parenting course starting next week.

The course is called “Great Beginnings for Families,” and it’s designed for parents of children aged newborn through 6-years-old. It will be meeting from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Thursdays, from September 28th through October 26th at the Town Craft Building in downtown Perry. Extension invites parents to learn about: positive discipline and guidance; handling uncomfortable feelings and emotions; helping children resolve conflict; and encouraging learning through play. It will be available in both English and Spanish and free childcare will be provided.
