With school board elections now over, it’s time to turn to city council and mayoral elections. The last day to file for candidacy in mayoral or city council elections is tomorrow at 5pm. The Guthrie County Courthouse will be open until 5 tomorrow for any Panora or Guthrie Center admissions. Stuart city elections are controlled by Adair County.

Each community has three open city council positions. Stuart and Guthrie Center will also be conducting mayoral elections this year. Stuart has a mayoral term of four years, while Guthrie Center’s mayor serves for two years. For more information, contact the Guthrie or Adair County Auditor’s offices.
