Greene Co Supervisors 9_11The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

The Board heard an update from Jefferson City Administrator Mike Palmer. He said the Community Development Block Grant is starting to install new features like windows. The City is also looking into an engineer to help evaluate excavating the floor of their building at 205 North Wilson Avenue before a new supported floor can be installed. The animal shelter steering committee has received a proposal from an architect on plans and specifications for a new facility and the City Council is expected to move forward with a development agreement and a tax increment financing rebate for a new facility for Wahl/McAtee Tire and Service.

The Board then reviewed the master matrix score for two new hog confinement buildings in section 25 of Bristol Township for the Youngblood’s site. The score was 450 and the Department of Natural Resources requires a minimum score of 440. The public hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 18th at 9am during the regular supervisors meeting.

The Board reviewed another master matrix score for three new hog confinement buildings in section 27 of Highland Township. The score was 450 and the owner is Iowa Select Farms, no operator has been determined. The public hearing is also scheduled for September 18th at 9:30am.

The Board also approved the County Recorder’s report of fees for August as presented.

Finally, County Engineer Wade Weiss gave an update. He said a crew is patching pavement on N-65 and patching projects on P-46 to repair broken concrete from the MidAmerican Energy Beaver Creek Wind Turbine project. The cost for the repairs was estimated at $120,000. Weiss also mentioned that the N-65 bridge is anticipated to be opened before harvest season begins in the county.
