Incumbent Mike Dennhardt is seeking re-election to the Greene County School Board.
He was appointed to fill former board member Susan Burkett’s term in January of 2016. He then won the special election last September to remain on the board. The Rippey resident hasn’t served on any other boards or organizations, other than school board. As far as education is concerned, Dennhardt likes to see approaches and ways to teach kids change. He also is in favor of having students receive real-world experience as part of their regular education.
Dennhardt describes why he wants to remain on the school board.
“We’ve been through some tough times with the school board and with the school (district). I see the positivity with the changes that we are making. I’d like to see the positivity keep growing to maybe go into the bond (referendum) to get a new school. I think we need a new school.”
Dennhardt is one of four candidates running for three available seats on the September 12th ballot.
