Labor Day is Monday and several offices and businesses will be closed in observance of the holiday.

The Greene County Courthouse, Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library, Greene County Extension, Greene County Community Center, Greene County Chamber and the Jefferson Post Office will all be closed.

The Jefferson Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

Jefferson City staff reminds residents that due to the holiday on Monday, garbage routes will be delayed every day next week. Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday will be pushed back to Wednesday. Garbage routes on Wednesday will be delayed to Thursday and Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday. Garbage routes will then go back to normal schedules the following week.
