The long awaited return of competitive volleyball and cross country has officially come to an end as today marks the 2017 season openers for both Panorama volleyball and cross country teams.

Panorama cross country comes back as pretty big favorites on both the girls and boys side with the Panther boys ranked 13th and the Lady Panthers ranked 10th in the latest preseason polls. Both are reigning state meet qualifiers with the Lady Panthers also coming back as the reigning WCAC champions. Today both Panther squads take the short drive to Guthrie County Rival ACGC in Guthrie Center and will be part of a pair of a 13 team field. Greg Thompson will be leading both Panther squads into Guthrie Center as he begins his 18th year at the head coaching helm beginning at 5:00 pm this afternoon.

On the hardwood, the Panorama volleyball team will start their resurgence to dominance as they open up their season tonight on the road against conference foe Madrid. Panorama volleyball enters 2017 under the direction of third year head coach Renae Follmuth. The Lady Panthers will be not too far removed from their second preseason scrimmage that took place on Monday, and they will look to showcase all the improvements tonight. The Lady Panthers won’t be able to utilize last years kills and digs leader Faith Powell due to injury but will retain the likes of aces leader Nicole Rolfes and returning blocks leader Morgan Johnk. Panorama will battle in Madrid to begin the season tonight beginning at 6:30 pm.
