A wave of counterfeit money has found it’s way through Perry recently, and the police department is looking for information.

One suspect has been identified related to counterfeit money used at Oasis Grocery Store at the beginning of August. There was also a man who purchased five reloadable debit cards and other items at the Perry Dollar General with six counterfeit $100 bills. Now there’s been a string of counterfeit $20 bills used at the two Casey’s General Store locations in Perry that were also found to be counterfeit. More information about the suspects in this latest scheme will be released soon. At this time, the police department does not believe there is a connection between the counterfeiting operations, but the investigation is ongoing.

The police and the Crimestoppers group are offering a $300 reward for information on the suspect from the Dollar General incident. Call 515-465-5661 to offer information. The police reminds people they can remain anonymous.
