The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session yesterday.
Kristine Jorgensen of the Guthrie County Tourism Council presented reports on the previous fiscal year. The current balance is $1.08 and the group requested $3,760 for general operating expenses. They hope to use part of the funds to advertise in the Iowa Travel Guide and maintain their recently updated website. They would also eventually like to establish a welcome center in Panora for the County. The Board approved the request for $3,760.
County Engineer Josh Sebern discussed updates on projects. Sebern has set September 19th as a date for advertising bids for the cold storage project.
The Board then appointed Steven James of Stuart to the County Veterans Commission. He replaces Dennis Hooper.
The Board also moved to table the discussion of the retaining wall bids due to a publishing error. Bids will be reviewed at next week’s meeting.
