Greene County RamsSchool starts tomorrow for both Greene County and Paton-Churdan Schools.

Greene County Schools will start the year with some shifting of grade levels. Superintendent Tim Christensen says the elementary will now be pre-kindergarten through fourth grade, the middle school will be fifth through eighth grades, while the high school will remain the same with ninth through twelfth grades. He commends everyone that was involved in moving equipment and other items to the various school buildings to get ready for the school year.

“I want to thank the custodians, the teachers, the technology people and everything. There was a heck of a lot of work this summer with moving buildings and doing everything. They did yeoman’s work and I really want to give appreciation for everything that they did moving that stuff, and getting it ready, and getting it set up. People did some great work.”Paton Churdan School Sign

As for Paton-Churdan, Principal Annie Smith says they’ve made updates to lighting inside the school building, added an additional bus and have all staff returning this year. She points out what she’s most excited for the school year.

“I think more than anything, I am looking to that consistency. We’re really looking at bringing more school pride. We have a new spirit store in our office and we’re just really wanting to get a lot of energy out there. We have really good community involvement, but I always think we can do more.”

Both districts will dismiss early tomorrow and every Wednesday during the school year.
