The Stuart American Legion has seen better days.  Some members of the Stuart community want that to change.

The Legion will be hosting a poker run fundraiser on Saturday, September 30th, to benefit the Stuart American Legion Rebuilding Fund.  The run begins and ends at the Legion Hall, with stops in Greenfield, Creston, Winterset, Booneville, and Dexter.AmerLegion_color_Emblem

Sign up starts at 10 am and the ride begins at 11.  After the run, a meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, chips, pop, and water will be provided.  Shirts are also available.

Co-organizer Kim Avey expressed the group’s interest in revitalizing the hall.  “We are trying to redo the building to make it better looking (and) in tip-top shape”.

Half of the proceeds will go towards funding the event, while the other half will go directly to the rebuilding fund.  For more information, contact Kim at (515)-480-5651.
