Presbyterian Church in JeffersonThe Presbyterian Church in Jefferson is celebrating their 150th anniversary this September with a special event.

LeAnn Monaghan says this celebration event will take place on Sunday, September 3rd at the church. Activities include coffee and conversation beginning at 9:45am. Then there will be the ringing of the bell outside the church at 10:15, followed by an organ prelude. A service will then take place at 10:30am, featuring a few special guests.

“One thing that we’re really excited about is all of our past pastors, who are still living, are coming back that day and participating in the church service. So Rob Hart; Dick Glasgow and Steve Harberts will be there representing his father Dick; and David Goin, who was an interim, will also be there.”

After the service will be a catered meal by Lidderdale Country Store, followed by a photo presentation and time to share memories of the church. Plus, there will also be commemorative Christmas ornaments and a historical book for sale at the event.

Monaghan says all those interested in attending must reserve a meal by calling the church at 386-2514 or email firstpres@netins.net by this Sunday.
