Dallas County Habitat for Humanity will “Rock the Block” in Adel this week, and they’re still looking for volunteers.
Habitat Coordinator Omar Padilla says the “Rock the Block” program is designed to do smaller renovation projects in an entire neighborhood, in the hopes of inspiring nearby neighbors to do their own improvements. The Adel project will run this Thursday through Saturday, and they plan on tackling five homes. Padilla reminds people that Habitat for Humanity is not a “hand-out” organization, but a “hand-up,” giving affordable options for homeowners and potential homeowners.
