A Guthrie Center resident has been selected to be an Iowan of the Day at this year’s Iowa State Fair.

Individuals are selected by the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products to be an Iowa of the Day for each day of the state fair. Marian McQuaid of Guthrie Center will be the Iowan of the Day on Monday, August 14th. She will receive hotel accommodations at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, a cash prize, grandstand and state fair admission tickets and the use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart.

The Blue Ribbon Foundation started the Iowan of the Day award in 1997. It honors Iowans who have made a difference in their respective communities.
