The 45th Annual Shrine Bowl Football Classic inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls is today. Kickoff is at  4 p.m.with the South facing off against the North. Former Greene County head football coach and activities director Dean Lansman is an assistant coach for the South, and Lansman’s son, Logan, is a player, also for the South.

The elder Lansman resigned from the Greene County district as a teacher/coach/A.D. earlier this year and has accepted a position in the North Polk (Alleman) school district as a teacher and coach. The younger Lansman is a recent Greene County High School graduate who plans to further his education and join the football team at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.

Tickets for the Shrine Bowl are on sale at the gate today for $15 per person. All proceeds from the game go to support the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
