Day number four has come and gone for the Hershey Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships held in Lawrence Kansas and with it, two more events under the belt of ADM junior standout Keaton Kester.
ADM high school has two representatives at Rock Chalk Park but it was all Kester yesterday as she participated in the semi-final round of the 17-18 girls 200 meter dash and the girls 100 meter prelims. It was a mixed bag for Kester starting with the 17-18 girls 100 meter dash event. The top 24 times would advance and Kester made the cut placing 22nd clocking in with a time of 12.08 seconds. First place time went to ShaCarri Richardson with a time of 11.48 seconds.
In the semi-final round of the 17-18 girls 200 meter dash Kester wasn’t as fortunate as only the top 8 advanced and unfortunately Keaton’s time of 24.36 seconds placed her in 10th.
As for today’s action, both Kester will be back on the track in the semi-final round of the 100 meter dash for the girls 17-18 age group. Kester will be placed in heat number one which kicks off this afternoon beginning at 12:55 pm.
As for Sadie Juergens, her next competitive action will come tomorrow afternoon with the 15-16 girls 800 meter final beginning at 1:15 pm.
