A Grand Junction man was sentenced to probation and must register as a sex offender, following a series of incidents in 2015.

According to court documents, 56-year-old Michael Anthony Long was sentenced to three years of probation and must register as a sex offender on the Iowa Sex Offenders Registry, after entering an alford plea to a Class D Felony for lascivious acts with a child. An alford plea is where the accused is not admitting guilt, but believes there is enough evidence to convict the individual in a jury trial.

The sentence stems from a series a incidents in 2015 where Long touched the victim multiple times.

Long was also ordered to be under the supervision of the Director of the Iowa Department of Corrections for ten years, as if on parole. A no contact order between Long and the victim is in place for five years and he was ordered to pay court costs.
