Although the 2017 season has concluded and the eager wait for the 2018 season starts,  there  continues to draw a lot of excitement about what this Tiger team is capable of doing next season.

ADM will be bringing back some of their top bats including RBI and home run leader Nick Lindgren and Dalton Hews who was third  on the team in total hits with 35. These two will bring a big spark with them next season which is exactly what they did this year after accounting for 25 out of the teams 56 extra base hits on the year. Head coach Jason Book also brings back a whole host of even more talent from sophomore phenom Logan Crannell who led the team in sacrifice flies to the likes of Gage Fuller and Trey Volz. Both Fuller and Volz where two of the most patient batters with an average of over 4 pitches seen per plate appearance, leading the entire team in 2017.

There’s certainly a whole lot to be excited about with what ADM baseball can bring next year and Raccoon Valley Radio got the chance to catch up with head coach Jason Book to get his take on what he feels most excited about for the 2018 campaign.

“I think it’s really exciting just for the guys returning, the experience we’ve gained this year with some of the underclassmen and getting them on the field and getting them some opportunities here and there. I’m very excited about our pitching rotation and our pitching depth, I think we’ll continue to be strong there. I’ve already had guys asking about when we’re going to start having offseason work outs They’re already itching to get in the batting cages and get on the mound and start working through pitching drills. That’s something very exciting as well; you know you’re moving in the right direction when they are asking you and you are not asking them,” stated coach Book.

The ADM returning players for next season combined for 65% of the teams total RBI’s, over 60% of the team’s hits, and over 61% of the teams runs scored in the 2017 season.
