Even though the high school track and field season ended, track continues on for two ADM track stars after Sadie Juergens and Keaton Kester recently qualified for USA track and field Nationals.

Both Kester and Juergens will be racing up against the best of the best in the USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships July 24th-30th in Lawrence Kansas. The path to get here started back in early June with qualifying and just as they did during the high school track season, both Kester and Juergens excelled and flew by the competition. After being crowned Iowa High School girls 3A champion in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events, Kester set new personal records in both en rout to qualifying for nationals. In the 100 meter dash, Kester clocked in with a blazing time of 12.08 seconds while putting up an equally impressive performance in the 200 meter dash setting a personal record at 24.56 seconds. Kester placed first in both events.

ADM’s sophomore phenom this year in Sadie Juergens wowed the crowd as well with a couple of first place finishes with the 400 meter dash and the tried and true 800 meter run. Juergen’s 400 meter final time consisted of 1:02.61 which was a full three seconds ahead of second place. The 800 meter run is where fans saw Juergens excel the most this season and she continued to do so in qualifying with a time 2:19.00.

The 17-18 girls 100 meter dash event first round will take place on Thursday, July 27th at 2:10 pm while the 17-18 girls 200 meter dash first round is set to begin Wednesday, July 26th around 3:40 pm. The girls 15-16 400 meter dash first round will take place Friday, July 28th at 11:00 am while first round of the 800 meter run for the 15-16 age group will take place on Wednesday, July 26th at 12:40 pm.
