The Dallas County Fair kicks off tomorrow, with activities running through Sunday, and Raccoon Valley Radio will be broadcasting live from the fairgrounds.
The Big Red Radio will be at the fair from 10 a.m – 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday, playing music, relaying important information, and revealing live fair results. In addition to the exhibitions and livestock shows, there will also be a carnival and musical performances each day. Specific events throughout the week include: the Amazing Public Health Race from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday; Figure 8 and Circle Track Racing at 7 p.m. Saturday; the Bill Riley Talent Show at 1 p.m. Sunday; and the tractor and local stock pickup pull at 6 p.m. Sunday.
The popular mutton busting and junior rodeo will be on Thursday night, while bull riding and barrel racing takes place on Friday evening, a switch from previous years. The Fair Board reminds people wanting to participate in the junior rodeo and mutton busting, they need to register ahead of time.
