A special memorial to the events of September 11, 2001 will be displayed at Wild Rose Casino and Resorts in Jefferson next week, but it’s journey there will start in Perry this Friday.
The 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit will be spending July 1st through 4th at the casino. However, its trip will start at the Perry Hy-Vee and Shopko parking lot Friday, were a motorcade will form at noon to escort the exhibit to its destination. From Perry it will travel on Highway 141 and enter Jefferson on Highway 4. From there it will make its way to Wild Rose.
Wild Rose Jefferson Marketing Manager Aaron Harn explains it’s starting in Perry mostly for convenience sake. “It works best for the 9/11 Memorial actually just to meet us in Perry. We need to get as close to the county line as we can, just to make sure that our first responders are within the county. And also, they are coming that way, so that works out best to kind of stage in Perry.”
Anyone is welcome to join the motorcade, which will primarily consist of firefighters, police, and veterans organizations. To participate, contact Harn by email at Jefferson.Tickets@WildRoseResorts.com.
