Food Bank

The Dallas County mobile food pantry will be visiting both Adel and Perry next week, delivering food to those in need.

On Monday, the mobile food pantry will visit the Adel New Hope Youth Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m. It will then visit Perry on Wednesday, with a stop at Dallas County Hospital from 4-6 p.m. One of the Food Bank’s trucks will deliver customized loads of food to each location, which includes produce, meat, bread, and non-perishable items. Local volunteers will set up a distribution system similar to a farmers market.

The goal of the mobile food pantry is to provide a flexible food assistance resource in locations that don’t have access to traditional resources. The Food Bank also uses it as a good location for things like rental assistance or job training information. There is no identification required to receive food from the mobile food pantry, but it is first-come, first-serve.
