ADM baseball was on the hunt to get back into the winning column in conference play last night and they did just that by striking for 11 runs and taking the 11-0 victory over Carroll on the road.
Coming into last nights conference affair, ADM had suffered three straight conference set backs although last night they took a step forward by posting up 11 runs off of seven hits and 11 RBI’s which were spread out across seven different batters. ADM got the bats working early and often with just two of the teams 27 at bats having seen more than three pitches. Meanwhile patience was a great virtue for ADM with 8 walks on the night.
ADM pushed across runs on the scoreboard for 4 straight innings with one run in the first, four runs in the second, one run in the third, and three runs in the fourth giving the visiting Tigers a 9-0 advantage heading into the fifth. The game would be held scoreless until the top of the seventh where ADM struck for two more runs and the eventual game winning score of 11-0.
Dalton Hews proved to be the biggest bat on the night for ADM connecting on one hit out of three trips to the plate for a grand total of 3 RBI’s for the contest. On the hill, Cameron Wyett pitched a gem of a game earning the win while allowing no earned runs off of just 4 hits while walking just one and striking out five Carroll batters.
ADM’s overall mark now improves to 12-6 while their conference record increases to 4-5. With the loss Carroll drops to 1-15 overall. ADM heads right back into action this evening, battling it out against non conference foe and reigning class 4A champion Southeast Polk.
