As the downtown revitalization project continues in Jefferson, changes are being noticed around the square.
Pinnacle Construction crews started last week by removing the front facade of Muir Embroidery and are currently demolishing the front facade of MacDonald Insurance this week. As the demolition process continues, Jefferson Matters: Main Street Program Director Peg Raney says businesses will remain open.
“It’s just the first 24-inches of the building and they (Pinnacle Construction) have been involved with these before. The businesses will always be open and customers will have access to get into those (buildings).”
There are 13 buildings involved in the project and the design drawings are located at Jefferson City Hall. The list of buildings involved in the project can be found below. Another thing that Jefferson Matters is going to do is provide free treats to the workers every Wednesday.
“If anyone would like to be a part of this that want to make some cookies, or bars, or have popsicles, or ice cream bars, or anything like that. We’ll just have a cooler located somewhere, where they can stop whenever they have a minute and have a treat on us. And we’ll call it Whoop It Up Wednesday.”
To get involved, contact Raney at 386-3585.
