churdanChurdan is the place to be today with a full slate of activities for the Churdan Days Fire Department Fundraiser.

Organizer Nate Byerly says everyone can enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon and a beverage for $6 with the Churdan Lions Club in the City park from 8 to 10am, following the Bacon 5 Kegs Run at 7:30.

From there, people can visit with vendors, enjoy a car show and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament before the parade begins at 11am. Following the parade, Byerly says the free inflatables will be going.

“We are actually working with a company out of Des Moines and we have three different inflatables. We have an obstacle course, a bungee run and for the little kids we have just a bouncy house. But it will have a slide on the outside, an inside basketball hoop and outside (too). So it kind of gives the little kids something to do.”

There will also be a free-will donation lunch served by the fire department and the Churdan Library. The Town and Country Band will perform in the gazebo during lunch.

An all-school reunion will be at the school building in Churdan at 5pm, followed by musical entertainment by DJ Al Lohr in the beverage garden at the park. All proceeds will go to the local fire department for equipment purchases.
