McCreary Rec Center

Summer is a time for people to get out and be active, and one of the best places to do that in Perry is at the McCreary Recreation Center.

While walk-ins are welcome any time for a daily fee, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Becky Halling says there are perks for becoming a member. Members receive discounts on classes and programs, including the upcoming youth soccer camp that costs $20 for nonmembers and $15 for members. Members also get access to a free locker when they sign up, as opposed to paying $0.25 for a locker every time.

For those interested in becoming a member, Halling says all they need to do is go to the rec center and talk to Jean Down or any of the front desk staff, and they can give pricing information. There are several different membership options according to Halling, including for family, single parent, youth, adult, and even punch passes. She says there’s a membership option for anyone, covering any wants and needs a person may have.

The McCreary Center is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sundays from 1-5 p.m., though the pool always closes half an hour before the center.
