A successful weekend road tournament for the ADM Tiger softball team this past weekend picking up three wins and just one loss in the process.
The Lady Tigers started off the tournament on a bit of a rough note with a 6-2 defeat at the hands of West Delaware last Friday night. ADM starter Abbie Hlas gave up the most amount of earned runs she’s suffered all season so far with four while still tossing 3 strikeouts. Meanwhile the ADM offense could only muster 6 hits, one of their lowest hit totals all season so far.
As any team coached by Rick Dillinger usually does, they answered the loss with a slew of three consecutive victories the rest of the tournament. The three game rise started courtesy of a 15-5 romp of Waverly Shell-Rock in game two Friday night.
Saturday’s action started with a 4-1 victory over Union Community where freshmen Abbie Hlas continued to bounce back inside the circle allowing just one run to cross on merely four hits and no walks the entire contest.
The grand finale set the 10th ranked Lady Tigers up against Don Bosco for the second Saturday contest. There ADM would end on a very high note shutting out Don Bosco to the tune of a 7-0 decision. Seven batters would record a hit, with four recording at least one RBI. Three of the teams 6 total RBI’s came from Abbie Hlas who went 2-4 at the plate while inside the circle tossing 9 strikeouts, giving up no runs off of three hits.
ADM will quickly be back in action as they welcome in conference foe Winterset to Tiger Field for a battle of two top ten ranked teams in 4A. First pitch is set to commence the contest at 7:30 pm.
