The postseason begins tonight for the Boone High School girls’ soccer team. Greene County HS students play soccer for Boone under an athletic sharing agreement. The 6-10 Toreadors travel to 6-9 Ft. Dodge Senior High for a Class 3A Substate 2 match at 6 p.m. The winner faces Dowling Catholic (West Des Moines) on May 31.

Boone coach Chris Mann reports the regular season ended with a 1-0 double overtime victory over Carroll High at Carroll on Tuesday. Greene County freshmen Bailey Cunningham and Kassie Lamoureux played extensively for the Toreadors in that contest, including both overtimes. Cunningham had 13 saves from her goalie position.

The six wins are the most in a while for the Boone girls’ program. The Toreadors won just one match a season ago.
