The Perry Public Library’s summer reading program will be starting soon, and the annual KidsFest event will kick the whole thing off.

KidsFest will be Saturday, June 3rd from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the public library, on Railroad Street, and at the Carnegie Library Museum. Deputy Library Director Misty VonBehren explains what festivities people can expect at the event. “They can sign up for summer reading, they can enjoy games. We got prizes, crafts, face painting, balloon twisting, lots more. And this has been made possible through tons of sponsors throughout the community. So we just wanted to make sure that everybody’s aware of that, and to come out and start off the summer right!”

In addition to the activities, the Perry Fire Department will be on hand to serve lunch. Attendees can get a pork loin sandwich, hot dog, or brat, with chips, cookies, and a bottle of water for just $1.
