The City of Scranton will be revamping the city park this summer and they need a new name.
The parks department is asking the public to submit a name for the park. The City received over $75,000 to completely rebuild the park that’s located east of the community center. Some of the grants the City received for the project include Greene County Community Foundation, Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, Jefferson Rotary Club and Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Officials say the current playground equipment will be removed and new equipment will be installed, along with upgraded safety features.
Names for the park must be submitted to city hall inside the community center by June 1st. The winner will have the park name on a sign and will help usher in the new park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony when the project is finished. Call City Hall at 712-652-3888 or stop by to submit a name.
