An Urbandale man learned his fate in a Dubuque County District courtroom Friday morning for murdering two Des Moines metro police officers.

Sources say Scott Michael Greene was sentenced to two consecutive life in prison sentences after pleading guilty to two counts of first degree murder. Greene killed Urbandale Police Officer Justin Martin and Des Moines Police Sergeant Anthony Beminio on November 2nd. Both officers were sitting inside their patrol vehicles when they were shot by Greene. He was found by authorities south of Redfield in Dallas County some eight hours after the murders.

Earlier this year, the trial was moved from Polk to Dubuque County.
