The Greene County High School girls’ golf team closed the 2017 regular season with a narrow victory at the Perry Country Club course on Monday. Coach Heath Telleen’s Rams shot 209 for nine holes with Perry at 210 and Dallas Center-Grimes 211. Winterset was fourth at 229.

Meet medalist was Greene County junior Rachael Danielson at 45. Perry’s Brooke Huntington was runner-up at 46. The other Greene County scores counting in the team total were 51 for Ellie Madson, 55 by Emily Heupel, and 58 from Kaitlyn McColley.

Coach Telleen told Raccoon Valley Radio, “This was a great night tonight! Ellie and Emily both shot personal bests. This was our lowest round of the season. It was very nice to get three victories.”

The postseason is next for the Rams. The girls go to Denison on May 22 for a Class 4A Regional tournament at the Majestic Hills Golf Course.
