A Perry man is charged with a felony for theft in Greene County.
According to court documents, 49 year-old Daryle Dewayne Snyder is charged with a Class B Felony for ongoing criminal conduct and a Class D Felony for second degree theft.
The charges stem from Snyder allegedly taking items from his employer’s warehouse in the 700 block of North Wilson Avenue in Jefferson for over a year. The victim reported the missing items to the Greene County Sheriff’s office on January 22nd. Some of the items were found at Synder’s a relative’s house in Perry, while others were sold to an individual in Guthrie Center. The Dallas County Sheriff’s office recovered the stolen items from the Perry home that totaled over $4,000 in tools and clothing.
Court documents show Snyder talked to deputies and claimed that since he thought he wasn’t getting paid for the work he did, he felt that by taking items from his employer, that would make up for his paycheck.
He was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Greene County jail. He was then released following his initial appearance in front of the magistrate. His preliminary court hearing is scheduled for May 5th.
