As severe weather becomes more frequent in Adair and Guthrie County, Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf tells Raccoon Valley Radio residents should begin planning for storms and other severe weather events. Kempf suggests keeping a kit with basic supplies, food, and water close at hand in case of an emergency. He made special mention of planning to assist those with difficulties that may prevent them from moving quickly or taking care of themselves in a crisis.

“If you have a family member with a disability, you need to consider the necessities they will require if you are forced from your home, like medication and medical documentation.”

Kempf suggests using online resources from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in order to create an emergency plan for you and your family.
