It was a highlight of a day for the ADM girls track and field team during a great weather day out at the Waukee Girls Relays.

While the Lady Tigers weren’t at full strength they still had a solid outing placing fourth as a team with 67 points preceded only by Norwalk in third with 84 points, Carlisle in second with 142.5 points, while host Waukee took the top spot with 223 points.

Although the Lady Tigers did not take yet another top three team finish, they did manage to bring home a lot of highlights on the day most notably from ADM’s newest addition Keaton Kester. Kester has always been a dominant force in the 100 meter dash but yesterday she managed to take it to another level by not only taking first place but taking the class 3A crown with her time of 12.30 seconds.

Sadie Juergens joined the top five club in 3A doing so yesterday by placing first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:20.16. That time just so happened to put the talented sophomore 4th in all of class 3A in that event. With that performance Sadie officially topped her personal best in the 800 by four seconds.

For the first time ever entering into the 400 meter hurdles, Anna Kenny made it seem rather easy placing 4th in a ten person field with a time of 1:11.49.

Personal bests were set all around for ADM as the Lady Tiger’s sprint medley, 4 x 200, and 4 x 100 meter relay teams all set season bests earning 4th, 2nd, and 3rd places yesterday respectively.

Up next for head coach Bart Mueller and his Lady Tiger track team will be  a short trip to the  Dallas Center-Grimes next Tuesday against a 9 team field. A few of those teams include rivals Carlisle and Ballard. Field events will get things going at 4:45 followed by the running events at 5:00 pm.
