Fairview Congregational Christian Church of Stuart is inviting the community to attend the 50th anniversary open house on April 30th. The current building was constructed in 1966 after the 1881 original structure burned down. Long time church attendee Rosa Eddy, now 99-years-old, says the church has always been a great part of the Stuart Area.
“Used to be so many people attended here and it has always be a great place to attend services.”
Member Beverly Johnson tells Raccoon Valley Radio the congregation has been meeting in the Stuart area since 1855, holding services in homes until the first church building was constructed.
The open house will be held from 1:30-3 p.m.
