The Greene County boys’ golf team was fifth in a seven team field in warm conditions on Thursday at Jester Park during the Des Moines Christian tournament. The event was shortened from 18 to nine holes because of a course conflict. Conditions were the best of the season with temperatures in the mid 70’s with a partly sunny sky and manageable wind.

Panorama won the event by shooting 154 with DMC at 167, South Hamilton (Jewell) 170, PCM (Monroe) 172, Greene County 175, Pella Christian 176, and 212 for Carlisle.

The Rams were led by the Block brothers with Elijah at 40 and Jadon shooting 42. Ben Wilkens had a round of 46 and Isaiah Yoder was at 47 to round out those scores that counted in the team total. The 175 total was the second best of the season for Greene County and getting four golfers to shoot 47 or better has been a rarity. Coach Dave Destival noted the score this season was much lower than a year ago.
