The Guthrie County Arts Council has been making progress on preparations for the sixth annual Art in the Village event June 3. Art in the Village gathers artists from around the state to display and sell their work at the Guthrie County Historical Village in Panora. Arts Council President Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio past events have seen as many as 25 artists make an appearance and a diverse selection of artwork.
“We have had photography, pottery, painting, sculpture, woodworking and more. It’s different every year and we can really say there will be something for everyone.”
The deadline to apply to participate in Art in the Village as an artist is April 17, but some applications may be accepted after that date on a case by case basis. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 3 and will include performances by several musical acts throughout the day.
