Greene Co Youth Athletic AssociationThe Greene County Youth Athletic Association recently received a $150,000 grant from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation.

President Jamie Daubendiek says the money will be used to evaluate and research the potential of a youth sports performance facility and relating back to the Vision 20/20 project. He was completely surprised when they found out that they got $150,000 to use for their project, which Daubendiek points out  helps to instill values in youth greater than just wins and losses.

“It’s really about getting these kids in front of quality role models and people that can teach these kids how to be leaders and demand respect from them and learn how to work hard, put in the time and the effort and see the rewards down the line. It’s going to be fantastic. We’ve got a great group of board members and just the level of passion that they bring to it is pretty awesome and inspiring to be apart of.”

He hopes the new facility will help all Greene County youth be better athletes and individuals.
