Guthrie County residents addressed their legislators this past Saturday at an open forum
Representative Clel Baudler and Senator Jake Chapman held two legislative forums Saturday as the current session of Congress draws to a close. The pair fielded questions from a group of about twenty citizens at a forum at the Guthrie County Farm Bureau office in Guthrie Center.
“Research is being conducted on the conditions that medical cannabis is appropriate for and until we get some science on this we are not moving forward. We are not doctors or scientists and we need expert candidates.”
Funding concerns, water quality, medical marijuana, mental health and the Department of Natural Resources were all discussed at the meeting. Representative Baudler updated the crowd on the progress he has made in regards to a medical marijuana bill.
The legislators held a second forum in Greenfield at the Warren Cultural Center.
