The National Weather Service is looking for a weather observer in the Jefferson area.

Warning Coordination Meteorologist Kelsey Angle says the observer is responsible for taking three daily measurements including the high and low temperatures, precipitation and snowfall results. Those measurements are then submitted to the National Weather Service in Des Moines. Angle adds that they will provide all the necessary equipment needed to take each measurement.
