The Scranton Betterment Committee is hosting their annual 6-on-6 basketball fundraiser tonight.
Committee member Dawn Rudolph says it starts with a free-will offering soup supper from 4:30 to 6:30pm with the game to follow. The 6-on-6 contest will feature the Greene County Women versus the Collegiate All-Stars. The Town and Country Band will perform during pre-game and halftime. Rudolph describes a special ceremony that will also take place at halftime.
“It’s the 50th anniversary for Paton-Churdan (girls basketball) the team of 1967, who qualified for state. And also, in my learning of all of that, we found out that the Churdan Gremlins in 1949, ‘51 and ‘52 also qualified for state. So we are honoring them at halftime.”
Admission to the game is also a free-will donation. All proceeds will go back to the Scranton Betterment Committee.
