We have new information about the single vehicle accident that happened east of Jefferson Tuesday morning.
Greene County Deputy Shane Monthei tells Raccoon Valley Radio a female was traveling west on 235th Street at 8:37am, when she lost control of her 1999 Ford Ranger, due to the frost covered roads. She tried to overcorrect and the Ranger hit the shoulder, overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side.
Crews were able to get the male passenger out unharmed, while the female driver had to be extricated from the vehicle by removing the roof. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. The female suffered serious injuries and was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County EMS. Names of the victims are not being released at this time. The Ford Ranger is a total loss.
