Last year’s Community Christmas Dinner in Perry served over 400 people and the goal is to feed even more in 2016.

In order for that to happen successfully, founder Deb Miller says they need some extra hands to help.  Miller says the committee is made up of around six people and they rely on others to assist.

“We need volunteers right now.  We have two shifts, it’s about 10:15am until about 12:30pm for the first shift.  They come in, set up and we start serving at 11am.  The other shift comes in from 12:30pm until cleanup and we’re really about out of there by 3:30pm.  We get that place looking spotless when we leave, so we need the afternoon shift (help) right now.”

The meal takes place on Christmas Day at the Perry Elks Lodge.  Anyone who is able to help can contact Miller at 465-3740.
