Jefferson Police Department issued an arrest warrant for a Dana woman who is accused of forgery.

According to investigators, the department received a call from an Urbandale man claiming that one of the checks from his Wells Fargo account was issued to a female in Dana for $1,213. The victim said he didn’t know the woman and he didn’t issue the check.

During the investigation, that began on August 10, 2016, the officer learned that the check had been deposited, via mobile phone, into the female’s account at Home State Bank in Jefferson. When the officer interviewed the accused, she claimed she knew nothing about the incident. The officer then obtained her cellphone records and discovered she made the deposit to her account on June 13, 2016.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 21 year-old Kristen Abbie Langfitt charging her with a Class D Felony for forgery.
