About 150 people attended the Guthrie County 4-H Awards Night at Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School auditorium on Sunday.
Several 4-H’ers were recognized for the work that they did throughout the year. Outstanding Records were given to at least two 4-H’ers for each 4-H Club. There were also specialty awards for juniors, intermediates and seniors. One of the highest awards went to Tianna Janssen for for Outstanding Senior Award.
“She has been a rockstar leader in her club. She has lots of projects and county activities that she’s been a part of and was always helping anywhere that we needed it.”
That’s Extension Youth Coordinator Mollie Clark. She points out another traditional award is the Hard Luck Story Award, which was given to Keely Vasey.
“It was a heart-wrenching story about a young girl who fell in love with her horse and then unfortunately her horse got sick and passed (away). She was not able to ride her horse anymore and just had all of her dreams crushed.”
A full list of the awards and their recipients can be found below.
