The Greene County Chamber is accepting nominations for this year’s Above and Beyond the Call award.

Chamber Office Assistant Sheilah McGregor Pound describes what kind of nominee they are looking for to be considered for the award.

“The ABC Award is presented annually to an individual or a couple who through personal involvement, leadership qualities and unselfish giving of time and talent has positively affected activities or accomplishments beneficial to the community at large.”

The nominee must exhibit an involvement in a wide range of activities to improve the community, the activities must not essentially be an extension of the nominee’s business, have leadership qualities, possess the capabilities of starting and completing projects and have characteristics that produce harmony and goodwill in promoting community projects.

Nomination forms are available now at the Chamber office. The deadline to submit nominations is by January 1, 2017. The winner will be announced at the Chamber’s annual dinner early next year.
