Enrollment in the Perry Community School District is up nearly 60 students this year, the number of students in the District has remained quite steady over the last decade.

Superintendent Lynn Ubben reported Monday that the district is up 58.3 students this year, while they were down 57.05 students in 2015-2016.

“Regardless we’re thrilled to be up that number of students.  You know I’ve been in districts where it’s pretty easy for me to predict year-to-year, you just kind of take a class and bump them up, and I have an idea of preschool.  And I’ll tell you, in a district like ours it’s just very difficult to know.  We projected being down this year, that’s a fact.  We projected we could be down 38-40, and we’re up 58, so it’s just very difficult to project.”

Ubben says if you look at the last 10 to 12 years, the District is up or down only two students.
