iowa-state-patrolA Guthrie Center woman suffered serious injuries in a car vs. tractor accident Thursday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol report, at 10:20am, a trooper and the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office responded to the two vehicle crash at the intersection of 190th Street and Justice Road.

Fifty-eight year-old Peggy M. Dentlinger of Guthrie Center was traveling south on Justice Road and was stopped at the stop sign. Fifty-three year-old Kenneth Wayne Crowder of Guthrie Center was heading east on 190th Street. He tried to turn left to head north on Justice Road and his 1990 Hydraulic 2600 Tractor hit Dentlinger’s vehicle. Crowder was sitting on the right side of the tractor and didn’t see Dentlinger’s 2016 Chervolet Cruze and he ran into it and pushed the Cruze backwards while running over the top of it. Crowder then backed the tractor off of the Cruze and waited for law enforcement.

Crowder was uninjured, but Dentlinger suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines by air ambulance. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. There was about $1,000 damage to the tractor and the Cruze is considered to be a total loss.

Crowder was cited for driving the wrong way on a two-lane highway.
