This past Saturday the ADM Lady Tiger volleyball team took to the road to square off against several top tier opponents including a couple upper class opponents. ADM went a respectable 2-3 in the tournament and then made the quick turn around this Tuesday and played great volleyball to beat Winterset and stay undefeated within the Raccoon River Conference.
The two day turn around wouldn’t normally entice ADM head coach Mary Beth Scott to partake in such a tournament, but speaking with Raccoon Valley Radio, she mentioned how the tournament provided far more varying benefits for her Lady Tiger squad than just more opponents. She mentioned how aside from improving their skills from faster pace of play, the Lady Tigers also enjoyed a great team bonding experience.
” It’s good for us to play that faster paced game and it’s good for us to continue to work together. It’s a great bonding trip for us. We had some fun the night before, we were able to watch a Clarke game-we have a former player that plays there. It’s a good bonding trip which is what we need at this time in the season,” stated coach Scott.
Team unity will be ever so critical as after their lengthy break, the Lady Tigers will have another quick turn around involving a tournament, this time going from their conference match up next Thursday at Dallas Center-Grimes, then heading to Pella to take on another top tier tournament field that Saturday. From their ADM will take on the only conference team they haven’t faced this season in the Lady Jays of Bondurant-Farrar on October 11th.
As for the road closest ahead, the 10th ranked Lady Tigers’ match up against the recently un-ranked Fillies of Dallas Center-Grimes will commence at 7:00 pm.
