Greene County High School marching band will compete in the annual Carroll Band Day event tomorrow.

Last year, the band took home first place honors in Class 3A, but Director Wes Anderson says this year, his players are hoping to earn the title of “Best Band Overall”, which they haven’t won in the last few years.

The parade starts at 10:30am on Saturday and the route starts at Adams Elementary School in Carroll and ends at Carroll Stadium. Everyone is invited to attend. Along with Greene County will also be AC/GC, AR-WE-VA, Carroll, Glidden-Ralston, Carroll Kuemper Catholic, OA&BCIG, Roland-Story and Storm Lake high school. There will also be a number of middle schools as well. Following the parade will be the awards ceremony.

Anderson adds that the marching band will also compete at the state contest on October 8th and they will also perform on October 16th during the 50th anniversary event for the Mahanay Bell Tower. A map of the parade route can be found below.
